We planned to stay here for six days and to relax and have a good rest. Weather was good to start with, but for the last few days we had overcast skies, with a spattering of rain one day, and very little chance of topping up the batteries (with our battery of solar panels): oh

Beverley, Avon Valley

FEATURED

We pulled in to the RV stop at Beverley, virtually by the Avon River that meanders through the town, after a heavy day’s driving from Wandering – a whole 80 kms! We’re on our way back through Perth for a service on Fritz and some warranty issues for us! There was plenty of room, but

Wandering

We had been here before, because when we were in the area last time, no matter where we were, there as a signpost pointing the way to Wandering. So we took it.  This time we were on our way to Beverley, so we stayed the night. Quiet, with a few walks around the oval, where

From Sandstone and beyond

FEATURED

We left Sandstone, and we’re glad we took the time to visit. It was a round trip from the Highway of some 320 kms, but gave us the chance to sit and enjoy peace and quiet, and recharge our batteries, not the caravan’s, they’re fine. Next stop was a recommended roadside rest area, with an

Sandstone – Black Range

FEATURED

We left Cue and travelled to Mt Magnet to collect a few supplies (sounds like the Wild West movies!), and turned left to Sandstone. Read a little about it, but not knowing a lot, but it was on the list so off we went. 150 kilometres later the town was in sight. A good tarred

We departed the free camp just before Newman, and cruised around the town. Had to do a bit of food shopping and easily found the shopping centre. They had an IGA, Woolworths, Chicken Treat, Subway and generally shops that cover the day to day essentials. Quite the tidy town, which surprised me, as I assumed

Onward To Tom Price

FEATURED

We left Onslow and headed for Nanutarra Roadhouse to refill the tanks and turned towards Paraburdoo, stopping at an overnight free camp – Spuds.  It’s a huge area, quiet with little road noise, and the bonus, we were the only ones there. We have been blessed with the weather, and next day was no exception.

Next stop from Carnavon was Minilya Bridge Roadhouse. Two free camps here, south, the first one you come to was full. So we drove over the river to north of the river, and there was heaps of free spaces. Setting up camp for the night, we appreciated the peace and quiet of the area, with

Carnarvon

FEATURED

We visited the Carnarvon Space & Technology Museum today, and spent 1/12 hours there  and could have spent more time. A must see for visitors to the area. It was very informative and they had great replicas on site. For example, right to the exact measurements, of the first lunar landing module. It was small.
