What a gem. Not for the facilities available: it’s a conservation area so no ablution blocks, no water, no rubbish bins.  Just grsded gravel sites in the Miners Campground. If you love history, beautiful surrounds, and sunsets, you’ll love this. Absolute peace and quiet. No traffic noises, 34 kilometres from the nearest shops, and not many

We seem to have been inadvertently looking for quirky camping spots to stay for a day or two at a time, so that we can enjoy the peace and quiet, while going for walks through bush land and townships. Deciding to weave our way around the midwest and reading reviews on Wikicamps and Camps Australia,

Cue to Yalgoo

FEATURED

Leaving Cue after another couple of days looking for weird old school items in roadhouses and shops, we struck out west and after a hundred-odd kilometres duly arrived at a little country town called Yalgoo. Our first trip away since just after Christmas – a nasty little (well, maybe not so little) thing called work got in the way. After ANZAC Day, with the pressure off, we took our time travelling down to Dryandra Woodlands and stayed at Gnaala Mia in Congelin, off the York-Williams Road. It’s a fabulous spot
