The journey continues:
After weeks of to and fro for commitments in Perth, we finally left Yanchep heading for Eneabba for the night’s stop. However, weariness overtook us and we stayed at Karda Reserve overnight. Love it there. Incredibly peaceful.

Next day we were off to Nabawa, and a couple of nights at the Valley Tavern to catch up with travelling mates, Steve and Wendy.
After a good rest we then travelled to Galena Bridge, a riverside campground on the North West Coastal Highway. South of the river is a large, flat area, with vans so packed in, you’d hardly fit a BBQ plate between them, so we moved to the north side, across a causeway with lots of defined bays and we had all the room around the rig we could wish for.

We went sightseeing the next day, which turned out to be a long one. Then it was off to the Kalbarri Skywalk and took dozens of photos. We thought seriously about a coffee at the gift shop/cafe. Nope. True to form in regional WA, it was closed.

The skywalk precinct has nicely laid out grounds and well kept. Next was onto Nature’s Window. It was late in the afternoon, and we really didn’t have time to walk there and back, so took more photos and moved on to Kalbarri.

To say I was underwhelmed by the township is an understatement. I just imagined a bigger town, and from what I’ve heard and read, it’s great there, a must stop. Well maybe, but I expected more. All it is, is a sleepy fishing village with a couple of service stations, a small IGA store, a few selections for accommodation. Pubs and caravan parks.
The foreshore is well laid out though, free of rubbish, and the RSL Memorial Park is beautifully done.
Next day we hitched up and moved on to the Overlander Roadhouse. Out the back of the complex, is a huge camping area for RVs, caravans, motor homes to stop, no charge unless you need power. From there we could go to Hamlin Pool, Shark Bay, Monkey Mia and Denham. However it’s a rainy, miserable day, so this might be off the agenda.
A bit difference from yesterday’s sunny and 29 degrees, to today’s sporadic heavy rain and 2O degrees! As luck would have it, I did manage to snap a good photo of the sunrise this morning in between showers.
