Day 2 on the road and it’s looking like we’ll never get out of WA! After losing one of the front windows blowing out on the way, we checked into Wyalkatchem for a few days to recover after a few weeks of moving house; and 30+ years of ‘accumulated ‘stuff.’
The plan today is washing and a good van tidy after last night’s storms. It’s a good thing I have a new plastic bedside window or I’d have woken up really wet and windy.
We have no idea what’s next, now that we have to find and fit a new window somewhere so it will probably mean retracing our steps and waiting for a repairer in Perth.
We might even drive back to Toodyay and see if we can find the pane somewhere on the side of the road. In one piece. We also arrived in rainy, squally weather, and very tired. So decided (not thinking clearly) not to put the power on till morning.
That was a mistake.
The fridge/freezer was running on the inverter overnight. The batteries couldn’t keep up, and now we have a lot of thawed food! Lesson learned.
Living and learning. The joys of joining the dots!
